hi, i’m rhaime!
a planned wanderer
My name is Rhaime (“rhyme”) and home is nowhere and everywhere for me — more precisely, Korea, New York City and Hong Kong.
When I moved to the US, everything was new to me and I had a hard time adjusting. It’s been a beautiful journey writing about and reclaiming my Korean identity through this work.
I hope my love for Seoul can help you plan the very best, authentic and memorable trip to South Korea!
thank you, small businesses
All my work experience (except one 9-5 experience!) has been at a small business.
From my podcast to my blogging work, I have a passion and respect for the entrepreneurs who bring their vision to life with grit and passion.
Think about our lives without the cute gift shops, without the romantic restaurants, and without the cafes that bring us joy even on the roughest days.
Without these incredible small businesses, our capitalist world would be so much more bland, and life would be low-key dull.
Plus, I wouldn’t have my small business: this blog! (Thank YOU!)
rhaime’s favorite things
What would your ideal day look like?
It’s a hot summer day. I’m in a black cotton bodysuit & no one knows where I am. I walk all day in a Brooklyn neighborhood I haven’t explored yet, taking stops at random parks reading my philosophy poetry book, until the sun goes down.
Tell me about your favorite trip, ever!
Before pursuing blogging full-time, I went to Egypt for 3 weeks with my homie from college. The sites I saw, the hilarious people I met, the delicious food I ate…
I haven’t forgotten & I’ll have to go back soon.
