11 Best Premade Bullet Journal To Get Started Today 🎀

January 2, 2025 · In: Mindset

Updated January 13, 2025

We’re here to find you the Best Premade Bullet Journal so that you can get to bullet journaling right away.

There’s something so soothing, satisfying (and low-key addicting) about watching the girlies flip through their own spreads on TikTok.

But… where and how to get started?

If you don’t have a lot of time or get stressed thinking about wasting journal pages on the wrong bujo configuration, a premade bullet journal might just be the right fit for you.

Here are some fantastic options so that you can find the Best Premade Bullet Journal for you!

Should I buy a Pre-Made Bullet Journal?

Unsure whether to create your own bullet journal or invest in a premade one?

Great news – as a bullet journalist myself (who’s tried both), here’s my honest take on the pros and the cons!

Pros of a Pre-Made Bullet Journal

Here are 4 reasons why a premade journal might be the best fit for you 🙂

  1. First-time bullet journalist: It’s your first time bullet journaling, and you’re not sure how to organize all the different spreads into one cohesive bullet notebook.
  2. Get started right away: You have the motivation now, and you just want to get started ASAP.
  3. Save time & stress: You want your bullet journal to work for you, instead of stressing you out.
  4. You’re not artistic: If artistic abilities don’t come naturally to you, a premade journal might be a great alternative. You’ll still be able to express your creativity by the 1) color combinations you use, by using 3) washi tape and stickers, and also by 4) adding your own doodles and calligraphy in the margins and blank pages.

Cons of a Pre-Made Bullet Journal

We’re getting real here! Here are 3 reasons why you might just wanna stick with a classic dotted journal instead of buying a pre-made one.

  1. You’re following the Ryder Carroll method: If you’ve entered the bujo world inspired by the OG bullet journal method, which relies on more written text (rather than say shading in pixels!), then a classic dotted journal will suit you well.
  2. It can be expensive: While we’ll discuss the best budget options, 1) buying a pre-made bullet journal, or even 2) printing one out (& getting the right paper and a journal binder) can actually be pretty expensive ($50-60). If you’re budget sensitive, your best bet might be buying a solid dotted journal, like this one from Amazon.
  3. Not as tailorable: If you’ve ditched using a yearly planner after buying it (because the pages just didn’t work for you), reflect on what you want out of your bujo and see which ones will work for you. For example, some bujo templates are great for recording your life, while others are good for setting goals in certain areas of your life.

Want more flexibility? Check out this list of the 15 best bullet journals, including blank options.

Yes, I want a premade bujo 🙋‍♀️

Yay! Let’s go 🫶 Here are different things to consider!

Types of Pre-Made Bullet Journals

Here are the 2 main types of pre-made bullet journals:

  1. Pre-Printed Bullet Journals ($50): These are the easiest options to use, because everything comes done for you.
  2. Printable Digital File Downloads ($10-30): Digital files are pretty affordable, especially if you buy an undated version that you could re-use year after year. In addition, this option gives you a lot of flexibility, since you can use just the pages you want, and pick the exact order of the pages. Printable bujos are a great option if you want to go paperless and use an iPad, too.

How to assess the Best Premade Bullet Journal for you

1. Paper Weight

The higher in paper weight you go, the thicker the paper is. You’ll generally want 120 GSM (grams per square meter) and above to prevent typical inks from bleeding/ghosting onto the back of the page. 160 GSM is even better, but harder to find.

2. Which spreads are most important to you

Do you want the bujo primarily to track your memories or to save money? Or do you want a pre-made bujo that contains really good monthly planning pages (ex. with a cleaning tracker)? Or perhaps, you want your bujo to help you set and achieve your goals or save more money. When looking at different options, look at how good they are at what you are most interested in.

3. Dated v. Undated

Undated bujo’s can be started whenever, but it can be time-consuming to demarcate every day in our weekly and monthly spreads.

4. Pre-Populated v. Blank Spreads

A few printable options offer pre-populated templates (ex. with the phone usage ranges already dictated for you) and unfilled templates. This can save you even more time and hassle.

5. Cover Material & Design

They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to a planner that’s with you for a year, it does matter! Consider different materials you want, as well. For example, maybe you like the look and feel of a linen cover over faux leather.

6. Physical Features

Some physical features you might look for in a pre-printed journal or a journal binder (to use with printable digital files):

  • Number of bookmarks: Some have 2-4 ribbons, so that you can mark different sections of your bujo
  • Elastic Enclosure: To keep your notebook neatly closed
  • Pen Loop: Some notebooks have 2 pen loops.
  • Pockets: For stickers, photos, paper clips, tickets/receipts for scrapbooking

7. Blank Pages

If you want space for experimentation or to start adding your own spreads as you get the hang of it, check how many blank pages are added and where.

Pre-Printed Bullet Journals

1. Aesthetic Bujo with Thick Paper: The Journal Clubb ($52)

BUY ON ETSY

BUY ON ETSY

Pros: This premade bujo is a tight, well-organized curation of the classic yearly trackers. Plus, it’s 160 GSM so you’ll experience much less bleedthrough than a more typical 120 GSM.

And what can I say — Kira Goode’s spreads are adorable & I love her cloth hardback covers.

Cons: This journal is dated. If you’re starting your bujo far from January, their undated journal is a better fit. In addition, while there’s a reading and favorite song log, there isn’t a movie or podcast log for all you media junkies.

2. Best Budget Option: SIMSIMY ($19.79)

Sale best budget option
BUY ON AMAZON

Pros: This is one of the most convenient and budget options, and you can simply order off of Amazon. SIMSIMY’s bujo includes pre-populated options (ex. happy, sad, tired as options for mood trackers), making this option very plug-and-play!

Cons: While having pre-filled options can be super convenient, it can be annoying if you don’t like them (although there are blank options for your personal use, too). In addition, the covers aren’t the cutest (although I like the dusty blue and dark green!).

  • Undated
  • 240 Numbered A5 pages
  • 120 GSM
  • Elastic Enclosure & Pen Poop
  • 3 Built-in Bookmarks

3. Hand-Illustrated Designs: Linda Tong Planners ($45)

BUY HERE

Pros: Linda Tong’s planners have the cutest, most colorful covers. Inside are her dainty, hand illustrated designs. Linda keeps things fresh by including different weekly planner spreads through her bujos. Plus, at 160 GSM, you’re secure from most bleedthrough and ghosting issues!

If you’re a spiral notebook girlie, Linda offers that version too!

Pick from both single color (love this toasty burnt orange) and designed notebook covers (love the lilac daisy!).

  • Dated
  • 240 A5 pages
  • 160 GSM
  • Elastic enclosure & Pen loop
  • 2 Built-in Bookmarks
  • Paper Pocket

4. Cross Between Bujo & Planner: GoGirl Planner ($19.99)

Sale GoGirl Planner
BUY ON AMAZON

Pros: If you’re already an avid planner girlie, the GoGirl Planner is a great option. It retains the traditional calendar/monthly views, while having dedicated pages (and empty dotted pages) to encourage you to track your habits and your goals. This notebook is GoGirl’s best-selling planner, with over 200,000 notebooks sold and with over 12,000 Amazon reviews (rated /5).

  • Undated
  • A5 pages
  • 120 GSM
  • Elastic Enclosure & Pen loop
  • 3 Built-in Bookmarks
  • Paper Pocket

5. Stick-On Trackers: Cloudberry Journals ($33.99)

BUY ON ETSY

Pros: Cloudberry Journals are a cool system where they build in monthly and weekly pages, but you can also additionally purchase stick-on bujo templates that you can re-use on any future A5 journals (yes, you read that right!).

This option has a ton of empty dotted pages (125 of them), but still has monthly and weekly spreads built in.

The faux leather covers have a hard back binding and gold foil leaf print that I think is really classy. My favorite is the cinnamon, but there’s also navy blue and petal pink!

Cons: This isn’t a plug-and-play option. You’ll need to buy stick-on templates or hand-draw your own custom collections (ex. habit trackers!). In addition, at 120 GSM, this is a good starter journal but not the best if you know you want to have tons of creative freedom with heavy inks or layering multiple pen colors.

  • Undated
  • 272 Numbered A5 Pages
  • 120 GSM

  • 1 Built-in Bookmark

6. Pre-Filled Options: Craftify Digital Sol ($9.99)

BUY ON ETSY

Pros: We love all the pre-filled options that Craftify Digital Sol’s prepared for us, including 30 bingo trackers (lost for date night ideas? there’s a bingo for that!). Don’t worry, if you want full flexibility, there’s blank options for all the trackers.

Cons: This set has tons of trackers when it comes to wellness, meals and media. But there’s just one finance tracker (if that’s one of your primary focuses!). In addition, there’s no dotted version (dots make adding your own designs onto the templates easier).

  • Dated & Undated
  • 300+ Pages
  • Undotted
  • US Letter, A4, A5

7. TikTok Viral: Little Birdie Canada ($26.15)

BUY ON ETSY

BUY ON ETSY

Pros: Little Birdie Canada is your trendy bujo option, with almost 7.6M likes on TikTok and counting. This comprehensive set has all the pages you’ve been seeing on social media, without the frills.

Cons: This bujo set is great if you want to romanticize your life and get creative with ease. But there aren’t any goals trackers (and just one savings tracker). In addition, Little Birdie doesn’t offer US Letter size. Although A5 size is much more common for planners, if you want to print on a larger standard US size paper, set the printer to “fit” and use the A4 version.

  • Dated
  • 43 Pages
  • Dotted & No Dot
  • A4 & A5

8. Comprehensive, Massive Set: My Midnight Dreams ($13.07)

BUY ON ETSY

BUY ON ETSY

Pros: This is the first bujo set I bought! I love it because it’s so comprehensive. For example, there’s a variety of finance trackers (including a line chart for your credit score!), all kinds of media and book trackers, and thoughtful reflection prompts.

Cons: Yes, it takes time to flip through all these trackers & decide which ones you want!

  • Dated & Undated
  • 300+ Pages
  • Dotted & No Dot
  • US Letter, A4, A5, HP

9. Buy Once, Upgrade Forever: The Big Top Shoppe ($23.99)

SHOP ON ETSY

Pros: Decision fatigue is real, especially with online shopping. Loreta’s offer gives me so much reassurance because I know that once I buy, I’ll have access to her updated spreads – forever! Starting your journal in the middle of the year? Worry not, cuz you’ll keep getting future calendars.

Traditional Bullet Journal for Ryder Carroll Method

Here’s some excellent dotted journals if you’re following Ryder Carroll’s original bullet journal method.

10. The Official Bullet Journal: LEUCHTTURM1917 ($31.50)

The Official Bullet Journal by Ryder Carroll
BUY ON AMAZON

Pros: Ryder’s principles are built into this crowd favorite journal by LEUCHTTURM1917. It already has classic bujo pages, like a key, index and future log. Forget the method? There’s a handy bujo guide that fits into the back pocket. There’s numbered pages, a grid guide to make dividing up the page easier and a bujo method pocket guide.

  • Undated
  • 204 Numbered A5 pages
  • 120 GSM
  • Elastic Enclosure
  • 3 Built-in Bookmarks
  • Back Pocket

11. Affordable Built-In Bujo Features: Clever Fox ($18.99)

Affordable Dotted Journal Option Clever Fox
BUY ON AMAZON

Pros: This notebook is more affordable than many notebooks but is still 120 GSM, which is a solid starter paper weight. There’s several built-in features that align with Ryder Carroll’s method (like the key page for keeping track of your note-taking symbols, an index page and numbered pages). In addition, the grey dots are light enough that they aren’t distracting.

  • 120 GSM
  • Elastic enclosure & Pen loop
  • 3 Bookmarks
