Updated November 6, 2024

If you’re looking for the Best Brunch in Harlem, you’ve come to the right spot!

It’s hard to get brunch wrong in the heart of Harlem, given all the best brunch spots with decadent comfort food, live music and bottomless mimosas. Upper Manhattan has definitely got a ton of amazing options for a quality weekend brunch you’ll remember!

With that, let’s dive into the Best Brunch spots in Harlem.

Best Brunch Spots in Harlem

Soul Food and Comfort Food in Harlem

1. Ginny’s Supper Club

Head over to Ginny’s Supper Club for amazing live music and Gospel Brunch!

Enjoy soul food at Ginnys, from Cornbread ($7) and Mac & Greens ($9) to Block Party Ribs ($29). The entrees are admittedly on the pricier side, but note that they include pricing for the live performances.

Ginny’s selection of music spans the range, from soul, jazz and funk music to Haitian and Afro-Latin fusion music. They also offer Gospel Sunday Brunch every week!

Ginny’s is not super obvious to find: first head to the Red Rooster restaurant, and head downstairs to discover a large, spacious venue with leather booths and a stage for frequent live performances.

Ginny’s is reminiscent of Harlem speakeasies in the 1920s, complete with a wooden bar and patterned ceilings decked out in Art Deco glamor.

Address: 310 Malcolm X Blvd, New York, NY 10027 (located in Park and Tilford Building)

2. Red Rooster Harlem

Indulge in sumptuous comfort food by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson and enjoy the live jazz and soul at Red Rooster Harlem.

Come for the upbeat music and warm energetic vibes and stay for celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson’s innovative takes on comfort food, like the Jerk Salmon Bowl ($32) and Pan Fried Catfish ($27)!

I highly recommend the Chicken & Waffle ($18), which has some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever tried – it’s perfectly crisped but retains a juicy tenderness inside – and you can’t go wrong with the classic Shrimp & Grits ($29).

Along with their all-day menu, Red Rooster also offers Weekend Brunch Specials!

The main dishes are on the pricier side, but there’s no extra fee for the live music, so it’s definitely worth the splurge. Red Rooster has live performances almost every day, ranging from jazz and soul to hip-hop and R&B.

Plus, you can expect friendly and accommodating service at Red Rooster, which definitely isn’t a given in New York City!

Why not go downstairs and check Ginny’s Supper Club while you’re there?

Angel of Harlem is a New American and Caribbean restaurant with live DJs from Wednesday through Sunday and some serious Bottomless Brunch on the weekends!

The Bottomless Brunch is on Saturdays and Sundays. You can order an entree and pay an additional $30 for 1.5 hours of bottomless Rum Punch, Mimosas and Sangria! There’s tons of bottomless options – I’d highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits ($26), Buffalo Wings ($22), and Chicken Nachos ($26).

Saturday Brunch is from 11am to 5pm, and Sunday brunch is from 11am to 6pm.

Angel of Harlem also takes Happy Hour seriously – start the weekend early by taking advantage of the Happy Hour that lasts all night on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and know that Happy Hour lasts until 8pm on Fridays!

Address: 2272 Frederick Douglass Blvd, New York, NY 10027

4. Harlem Tavern

Harlem Tavern’s weekend brunch menu is a serious deal: you get an entree with a drink for only $19.95!

I’d recommend the Turkey Burger ($19.95) – the slab is juicy and the portions are hefty. For the brunch drink, you can choose from a Mimosa, Bellini, Bloody Mary, and a range of beers.

HT is the neighborhood bar to chill out and have a good time. It’s a beer garden and sports bar with ESPN playing at all times. Come for the vibes, more so than the cocktails or mixed drinks!

The venue is huge and there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so you rarely have to wait for a table. If you’re more in the mood for a quiet vibe, check out the seating in the back.

Harlem Tavern hosts various DJ events and live music events ranging from jazz performances to R&B nights, so check their Instagram before heading out!

5. Maison Harlem

Maison Harlem is a French restaurant with delicious food that hits the spot every time! With two French founders and French staff, you’ll get an authentic experience at this hidden gem.

Everything I’ve tried is delicious. My personal favorites are the Spicy Lamb Burger ($19.50) and the rich and savory Mushroom Risotto ($26)! The brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3:45pm.

I love the relaxed neighborhood vibe of Maison Harlem. The welcoming setting is fit for a brunch date as well.

Do note that 20% gratuity is already included in the bill!

Address: 341 St Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10027

6. Brunch Harlem (B Squared)

Savor amazing brunch with Southern seafood at B2runch Harlem, which is a black-owned business! B Squared is the only uptown restaurant with brunch 6 days a week, so if you’re a brunch lover, this is your place to go.

B2runch offers a three-course Prix Fixe Brunch Menu for $40, which is offered all day long. I’d recommend the Shrimp and Grits – the shrimp is fresh and it’s been seasoned properly!

Other fantastic picks on their All Day menu are the Lobster and Shrimp Hash ($42), Fried Catfish ($15), and the super buttery and satisfying Mac & Cheese ($15)!

While there’s no bottomless brunch option, the Mimosas are fantastic! They come by the carafe for $34.

The venue is on the smaller side, but the music is fantastic and the seafood makes B2runch Harlem worth it. Check out their DJ set list, especially if you’re coming for brunch on the weekend!

Do know that a 20% gratuity is added by default to the bill.

If you’re a jazz lover, head on downstairs to Room 623, which is a basement speakeasy with jazz performances Wednesday through Sunday nights!

Enjoy a taste of Paris at Le Monde, a French restaurant with super tasty brunch and a great-value bottomless option, complete with excellent service!

The Blueberry Pancakes ($16) are the best I’ve tried, with fresh house-made berry jam! The Crepes ($19) are delicious, with a great combo of toppings that work well together, and the Shakshuka ($24) is another brunch classic that Le Monde delivers.

Add $23 on top of your entree for Le Monde’s One Hour Bottomless Brunch. The mimosas are truly bottomless; while Le Monde can get busy during the weekends, the servers will definitely make sure that your glass is refilled!

The Parisian cafe-inspired interior is cute and charming, with a patterned tile floor, arched doorways and wooden French doors with long windows. Outdoors, you’ll find classic French bistro chairs with their distinctive woven backs.
