Discover the best restaurants in Greenpoint that make it one of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

Greenpoint is my favorite neighborhood in all of New York City, and I’ve spent many a weekend strolling about and checking out all the coolest spots.

Did you know that Greenpoint is also known as “Little Poland”?
With the second largest community of Polish immigrants in the United States (trailing Chicago), Greenpoint is your spot for Polish restaurants (but there’s also so much more!).

I’ve crafted a list of the Best Restaurants in Greenpoint so you can explore what makes this Brooklyn neighborhood one of the most trendy and up-and-coming spots to hang out.

Best Restaurants in Greenpoint Brooklyn
Best for Dates
1. Nura: Modern Indian with Spacious Warehouse Vibes

In a city of tight corners, Nura is a wide-open, high-ceilinged beautiful escape serving New American with an Indian flare.

Everything we had so delicious, from the cashew cream kofta to the tamarind honey ribs with sprinkled peanuts.

We celebrated our friends’ birthday there and it was great for big groups.
The staff were very accommodating, friendly and thoughtful about the group’s dietary restrictions.
The whole place is a vibe. All the cocktails we tried were tasty too.

Address: 46 Norman Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
2. Karczma: Polish Food in a Folkloric Setting

The first Polish restaurant I would recommend is Karczma — one of my favorite restaurants in New York City of all time! Karczma has delicious, authentic Polish food at a great price, with a dreamy wooden ambience that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of New York.

You’ve got to try the pierogis while you’re there — hot tip: ask to get them fried and ask for a mix to get all three types (cheesy potatoes, sauerkraut mushroom, and meat)!
For mains, the Plate of Polish Specialities is a great choice if you want a variety of Polish foods. The stuffed cabbage, which comes with the plate, warmed my soul. The White Borscht served in bread is a fantastic budget option — at $8, this will fill you up even for dinner.
If you’re lucky, you might end up dining on an evening where Karczma has live traditional Polish music.
Address: 136 Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
3. Dashi Okume: Time For Teishoku

Dashi Okume has a wide range of flavorful dashi to uplevel your home udon/ramen & stay for the grilled fish teishoku set meal.
It’s nestled in 50 Norman, which is a destination in itself. The space gives warehouse vibes with its high ceilings and is all windows on the street side. The space is constructed from reclaimed wood from old Kyoto houses and is full of Japanese concepts.
The teishoku is around $35-45. You can pick your fish, 2 side dishes, and a tea.
Address: 50 Norman Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Best for Vibing with Friends
4. Di An Di: Vietnamese in Light-Filled Venue
This Michelin guide Vietnamese spot gets tons of light and the fare is delicious.
Indulge in the rice cake omelette and cha gio crispy spring rolls for a tastefully presented, vibey brunch.
Address: 68 Greenpoint Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222
5. Paulie Gee’s: Incredible Pizzas in a Charming Setup
Namesake owner Paulie Giannone left his IT career to open this OG location in 2010.
This rustic, charming restaurant serves up Neapolitan pizzas with names like Bubba Guy (picked pinabpples & bacon) and the Greenpointer (arugula & lemon juice).
But don’t leave without trying the Hellboy, with soppressata picante and hot honey.
Paulie Gee has since expanded to 3 other cities and have opened up quick pit-stop slice shops too (Greenpoint, Gowanus and Madison Square Garden).
Address: 60 Greenpoint Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222
6. Greenpoint Fish & Lobster: Time For A Lobster Roll
Delicious oysters, lobster rolls and shrimp cocktail. Everything is freshed and prepared just right at this small seafood spot.
It’s not a big space, so it’s worth making a reservation beforehand.
Address: 114 Nassau Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
7. Forma Pasta Factory: Cheap AND Good

Ugh. Can’t say no to extremely affordable and extremely delicious, fresh-made Italian pasta!
Every pasta I’ve tried so far has been wonderful. The regular pastas are only $13, and their special pastas are $16 (they have set pastas for every given weekday).
The homemade pasta is boiled fresh to order. Trust me, you won’t regret this one!
My personal favorite is the pappardelle bolognese and the pipette ragu. I also love their mafaldine scampi (shrimp)! The forma salad is also a great option or addition to your pasta.
This Forma Pasta Factory location was so popular that they recently opened their second location in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.
Address: 14 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Best for Breakfast & Brunch
8. Sereneco: Sundays’ For The Girlies

With its boho decor and overflowing with light, Sereneco is the perfect place for brunch in Brooklyn. The venue is beautiful and clean, and while slightly pricey, the food is very good!
I highly recommend the Smoked Salmon Croissant. Everything about that dish is delectable, from the perfectly seasoned and plentiful salmon, the chewy, buttery texture of the croissant, down to the tanginess of the ricotta salad that it came with.

Address: 113 Franklin St, Brooklyn, NY 11222
9. Chez My Tante: Tasty Af Pancakes
Chez My Tante is another fantastic brunch spot in Greenpoint. Looking for the best pancakes ever? Look no further! The pancakes are crisped on the outside to a gorgeous honey-golden brown, but fluffy in the center and melt in your mouth (make sure to eat ‘em while they’re hot!).
Chez My Tante is named after the 60-year standing hot dog stand, Chez My Tante, in Montreal. This Greenpoint bistro finds its inspiration in its Canadian and New York roots, apparent in dishes like pig’s head terrine.
The minimalist white brick interior give Chez My Tante a clean and comfortable vibe.
Make sure to get a reservation ahead of time, because this restaurant, like a lot of popular New York City restaurants, can get very packed! There is outdoor seating with heat if the restaurant fills up.
Address: 90 Calyer St, Brooklyn, NY 11222
10. Esme: It’s Brunch O’ Clock!
For a classic American brunch, head over to Esme! Esme is one of the most popular brunch spots in Greenpoint, with delicious food and edgy minimalist decor that shines with the ample ambient lighting.
The maple french toast hits the spot and eggs benedict is delicious. Esme is a great spot if you’re searching for a brunch spot with a few friends.
In warmer weather, be sure to check out the outdoor patio space. Esme also transitions great as a vibey date spot at night!
Address: 999 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
11. Frankel’s Delicatessen: Pastrami, Egg & Cheese on Challah Roll

The pastrami, egg & cheese on a challah roll was as soft as a baby’s butt.
The challah was plush and melted in my mouth. The pastrami was so tender.
Ask for mustard on the side; the tang was very complementary.
Other delicious tries at this Jewish deli include the heirloom tomato open-faced sandwich.
Address: 631 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Best Quick Bites in Greenpoint Brooklyn
12. Sweetie’s: Highly Satisfying Korean Fried Chicken

I had the tastiest, most gourmet corn dog of my life at Sweetie’s.
The inside of the corn dog was soft and doughy, like the pleasant texture of Cinnabon.

There’s 6 sauces available to drizzle. My favorite was the cheddar cheese sauce, which gave a sharp punch to the nose.
Loved the fun plastic stools remembrant of the OG pochas serving fresh street food in red tents.
Address: 676 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
13. Taqueria Raminez: Grumble-Worth Tacos

Looking for a quick bite as you stroll around Greenpoint, Brooklyn? Taqueria Ramirez is the spot for some of the best tacos I’ve had, ever!
Make a pit stop and grab their authentic Mexican tacos. My favorites are the al pastor tacos. They are so good, are affordable (at $4-5 each!) and will satisfy that itch you didn’t even realize you had.
There’s a few spots in the shop to eat, but it’s tight. On a warmer day, there’s some seating outside Taqueria Raminez where you can inhale your tacos (I promise, they’ll be gone in an instant!).
Address: 94 Franklin St, Brooklyn, NY 11222
14. Taku Sando: Thicc Af Japanese Sandwiches
Thicc Japanese sandwiches you could eat with your eyes.
The pork slabs in the ton-katsu sando are juicy and fatty on the inside and crispy af on the outside. They’re dressed in the shokupan milk bread baked in house everyday.
There’s a cute backyard space that’s gives glamping, packed with Snow Peak camping gear.
Pair it with the yuzu ginger ale to heal your inner child.
Address: 29 Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
15. Wenwen: Taiwanese Snackies
Why not expand your palette with a new variety of Taiwanese snacks and dinner plates? From the fried popcorn chicken to the Lo Ba Beng and Fried Sesame Tangyuan with Ice Cream, Wenwen hits all the bases from seafood to everyday dishes.
If you’re looking to try something new in Greenpoint, be sure to stop by Wenwen with friends or a loved one for a casual atmosphere focused on foood!

16. Greenpoint Terminal Market: Breathtaking Waterfront Views
Located right near Transmitter Park with stunning views of Manhattan, this market is one of the best places to vibe out on a hot summer day.
There’s often a DJ with live music bumpin in the background.
Shop local, from clothes to jewelry and tasty bites.
During the in-season (roughly May-Oct in the past), Greenpoint Terminal Market is open on Sat/Sun from 11am-6pm.

Best Bars in Greenpoint Brooklyn
17. Hana Makgeolli: Korean Traditional Liqueur Brewery

This Greenpoint brewery makes their own Korean liqueurs.

Experience three of their in-house brews with the $18 tasting flight.

The dubu kimchi was some of the best I’ve had, period ($20)!

I’m keen to return to try the rest of their brews.
The warehouse venue has high ceilings and feels private, in an industrial part of Greenpoint.
Address: 201 Dupont St, Brooklyn, NY 11222
18. Diamond Lil: Moody + Intimate
This moody and intimate cocktail bar is perfect for cozying up with your date or catching up with friends.

The cocktails are great and well-priced.
